Minutes

The meeting of the Middletown Wrestling Association (MWA) was called to order on Monday, November 14, 2005, at 7:15 p.m. by President Hughes.

In attendance at meeting were: Gregg Hughes, Tammy Via, Lisa Demko, Lisa Kochinsky and Robin Rain.

Minutes – October 10, 2005, minutes were approved. These approved minutes will be posted on the website. It was suggested that future minutes be posted earlier and them as “unapproved.”

Treasurer’s Report – Lisa Kochinsky reviewed the September 2005 Treasurer’s Report. The present checkbook balance is $4,167.36; singlet fund CD - $1,584.760; 6-month CD - $3,074.57; and 6-month CD - $10,138.45.

Singlets can be purchased at a cost of $35 for youth and $36 for adult. Kochinsky will maintain and monitor the collection of the refundable deposit and the distribution of singlets. Discussion took place on the possibility of allowing individuals to purchase the singlets instead of returning them. It was decided not to do that. (In discussion held after the meeting, it was decided to allow individual’s the opportunity to purchase the singlet and reorder more next year if necessary since the funds will be there.)

Coach’s Report – Coach Nauman – no report.

Committee Updates - It is the desire to have an individual serve as the head each committee. Individuals who have volunteered names have been added.

4. Elementary Registration (Kochinsky/Allen) – Two registration sessions have been held with the last one being November 16 (7:00 – 8:30).

Budget – The officers met with the coaches to work on the budget for this year. The budget contains proposed income of $17,500 and proposed expenses of $20,310. Discussion followed. Discussion was held on how to handle the purchase of the sweat suits ($60) for varsity so they can keep them. It was decided that a $20 deposit would be collected from all varsity wrestlers to help defray the cost of this item. Because of the low attendance, no action was taken on the budget. Hughes noted that the budget will be approved pending tomorrow’s Coaches/Parents’ meeting to see if there are any concerns.

A standardized amount for the senior recognition gifts will be discussed by the Officers and reported on at the next meeting.

Next Meeting - The next monthly meeting will be held on Monday, December 12, at 7:00 p.m. at the cafeteria of the high school.
